Our Understanding Of The New Park Home Scheme 2023:
- The Scheme Will Start Around Sept 2023
- Park Home Grants Will Not Be FREE
- Park Home Cladding will cost you up to £5000 contribution
- There will NOT be any Heating Upgrades
Will Park Homes Grants Be Free?
Lots of people applying for park home grants and we get around 5-10 applications every week.
You will need to put your hand in your pocket as they wont be fully funded.
Reading the article and my take on it is that it will not be fully funded and you should expect to pay at least a 50% ( and maybe more contribution ) towards it.
We do know that a lot of Park home residents are desperate for External Wall Insulation but dont want to pay anything.
External Wall Insulation will cost you around £7000 ( ball park figure ) for a park home and the government will not have the funding to give you a 100% grant .
YOU SHOULD THEREFORE EXPECT TO PAY AT LEAST £5000 IF YOU WANT TO INSULATE YOUR PARK HOME OUTSIDE WALLS.
Any money you can get off the government towards insulating your park home should be grabbed ASAP.
Government Grants For Mobile Homes?
There has not been any grants for mobile homes for a few years now.
The last lot were for LPG boilers back in 2017.

Indeed many people report energy bills in excess of £300 per month.

What Insulation Is Needed For Park Homes?
Walls are usually insulated by fixing insulated panels to the exterior of the home after which a layer of render and decorative coating is applied.
Another way of doing it is by using timber battens and insulation which is applied to the exterior and then overclad with new finishes.
Roof insulation:
Often carried out at the same time as the replacement of roof finishes, appropriately specified roof insulation will improve the energy performance of your home whilst ensuring the roof space is well ventilated (allowing air circulation and preventing condensation).
Underfloor insulation:
In most cases this will involve installing foil coated thermal insulation to the underside of the home.
Some systems apply spray foam directly to the underside of the floor, but this is likely to seal all the pipes and wiring, preventing any future access.

Loft Insulation has been proven to save up to 20 percent on energy bills
Unlike traditional houses our unique loft insulation is installed from the outside meaning no disruption to the occupier and an instant impact on the reduction of heat loss through the roof of your park home.
As a third of the heat loss is through the floor of your property it is vital that your is insulated to a maximum.
Windows
Note: As part of the works to install wall insulation to your park home, the windows will need to be moved outwards to line through with the outer skin and re-sealed.
As a result, you may wish to consider replacing the windows at the same time as installing the insulation to ensure you get the best benefit from the works.
