The government recognises that new boilers are very expensive (Average boiler exchange price is £2300) and many people in receipt of low income benefits would not be able to afford to change their boilers without some assistance.
The Boiler grant Scheme has now been running since 2013 and over a million grant boilers have already been installed.

All boilers that are fitted as part of the Boiler Grant Scheme come with a 2 Year Parts & Labour Warranty.
For a small fee you can pay to extend your warranty to 5 or even 10 years.

Does The Boiler Have To Be Faulty To Qualify For The Scheme ?
The boiler being exchanged must be either broken, be inefficient, or have a fault found to be eligible.
The engineers have to do a thorough test including Energy efficiency tests, combustion and safeness tests to qualify it.
Are There Free Boilers For Landlords?
No. Private tenants and landlords are not eligible to apply for the new boiler grant scheme.
The private rented sector can still apply for Free insulation and free first time central heating.
Landlords could apply for a free boiler up until 2018 but the government put a stop to this and now landlords are no longer eligible.
